**The Work You'll Do**:
It is an exciting time to work in the Finance and Accounting teams at Sovos. Over the past year, we have been growing and scaling our department to meet the needs that come with being a leader in tax automation software. We have been augmenting the team, implementing new systems and processes and innovating, all with the goal of building a global, scalable Finance and Accounting function. As we continue this endeavor, we are continuing to add to our team. This is where you come in.

The Senior Accountant is primarily responsible for assistance with monthly and ad hoc financial reporting as well as the assessment of technical accounting matters. This position will interact closely with members of the finance team, independent auditors and legal departments to ensure accurate reporting full compliance with all external standards. As necessary, this position will be expected to assist in special projects and process improvements.
- More specifically you will:_
- Assist in the preparation of monthly and ad hoc financial reporting including preparation of monthly reporting to the Company’s private equity investors and lenders
- Ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
- Initiate budget and forecasting activities
- Interface with other departments to verify transaction report data and issues
- Research technical accounting matters and assist in the preparation of technical accounting whitepapers
- Assist with external audits
- Review the impact of new or proposed accounting standards, interpretations or regulations from the FASB, AICPA, PCAOB, EITF, and SEC
- Assist in ad hoc projects as required
- Be aware of, and comply with, all corporate policies

**What We Need From You**
- Progressive professional experience with public accounting and/or software industry experience (preferred)
- Background with technical accounting, research and reporting
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP
- Strong Excel skills
- Demonstrated problem solving ability (identify problems and develop / implement solutions)
- Ability to take ownership and drive projects / issues to completion.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Due to client contractual obligations
