Head of Data Science

Robert Half is seeking a driven, creative, inquisitive, and focused Head of Data Science to join our team. This role will support Robert Half, lending technical knowledge and analytical expertise, helping develop products that drive the business forward.

This role will lead a team of data scientists and partner with a team of engineers in the further promotion and adoption of artificial intelligence and machine learning. The Head of Data Science will spearhead alignment and work on products necessary to be at the forefront of innovation.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead a team of AI and Data Scientists with the goal of continual innovation at Robert Half.
- Understand and manage data analytics to discover new innovative opportunities.
- Evangelize and educate the organization on data science and the team’s products by effective communication and demonstrating simple to understand use cases.
- Design quarterly/annual roadmaps for review by the executive steering committee.
- Participate in monthly Business Transformation Working Sessions.
- Continuous A/B testing and reporting to assist the data scientists and engineers in producing meaningful companywide suggestions for steering Robert Half.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis and experimental designs to drive new hypotheses for innovation trials.

Qualifications and Experience:

- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or related technical/scientific field.
- 8+ years of industry experience in the AI/ML field with leadership experience.
- Writing software using scripting languages, primarily Python.
- Experience training and hosting various types of ML algorithms.
- Competent using data science tools, libraries, and frameworks. Must be proficient in NLP. Experience with Scikit-learn, NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, TensorFlow, doc2vec, word2vec, general clustering and vector math. Experience with Spark preferred.
- Thorough command of general data science and machine learning techniques.
- Good understanding of experimental techniques for the design of A/B tests to measure impact.
- Must have a thirst for innovation and thinking ahead
- Must understand the importance of fostering a positive team culture of inclusion, diversity and being an ally for coworkers.
- Strong leadership qualities, mentoring and being a team player.
- Possess strong communication skills that can influence across the organization and at all levels.
- Track record of developing and managing high-performing teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a results-driven, team
- oriented environment.
- The ability to span boundaries and develop relationships across the organization.
- Superb effective public speaking skills and professional/polished presence.
- Ability to focus on driving results and resolutions to complex business challenges
