**About the Role**:
The LatAm Strategic Initiatives team drives innovation in the region by identifying, building, and incubating new business bets.

As a Strategic Initiatives team member, you will lead and own the end to end process to bring to life new business ideas, as well as special projects that span beyond the core operation, requiring collaboration across multiple teams.

You will play different roles through the different life stages of our initiatives, ranging from VC investment professional to entrepreneur and CEO of new ventures.

You will need to come in with and further develop a broad and well rounded range of skills, spanning from analytic & critical thinking, to sales & marketing, to process/operations building and execution.

**What You'll Do**:

- Source new business opportunities by conducting market research, competitive benchmarking, trends analysis, connecting with multiple Uber teams across the world, running ideation workshops and brainstorming sessions with the LatAm’s cross functional leadership team, and crowdsourcing ideas from the entire LatAm org.
- Screen ideas considering their impact potential, complexity, technical feasibility, and alignment w/Uber’s assets, capabilities, and customer base.
- Deep dive into the ideas with the highest potential, conducting research to enrich our understanding of the opportunities, in order to accurately prioritize & fund them for execution.
- Design and set-up minimum viable products using our existing tech and capabilities, in collaboration with cross functional teams including Ops, Payments, Tax, Legal, Product, Comm Ops, BD, Marketing, Comms, Finance, Strategic Sourcing, and more.
- Run pilots to proof concepts, pitching the project to internal and external partners, and pivoting & adjusting as needed.
- Dissect and analyze pilot data & results through deep quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Present results and recommendations to the leadership team to drive decisions around continuing, stopping, or expanding the projects.
- Articulate arguments to scale successful innovations and, in some cases, lead the expansion stage

**Basic Qualifications**:

- ** Experience & Eye for business**:4+ years (for L4, 3+ years for L3) of consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital, strategy, operations, product/project management, or entrepreneurial experience (ideally some combination of them).
- ** Communication**: strong Spanish and English proficiency. Experience interpreting and communicating data to senior audiences. Ability to articulate sound and robust storylines. Ensure the right messages, presentations, and forums to bring teams together and cascade strategy and plans.
- ** Vision and critical thinking**:capacity to imagine future scenarios, connect dots, read between the lines, and think ahead of the game
- ** Problem solving**:ability to quickly, clearly, and cleanly break down and structure sophisticated problems, think out of the box, and find creative and effective solutions.

Internally you’ll work with multiple teams including Product, Business Development, Support, Legal, Tax, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Payments, Strategy & Planning etc. You will also work with external partners, pitching, implementing and owning your projects. You will require basic sales/client management and negotiation skills, and should be able to optimally handle tensions, competing interests, and diverging points of view with different partners to get to agreements that allow to move things
