The Senior Advisor, Risk Assurance & Advisory assists with planning and executing internal audits, enterprise risk management and regulatory requirements for internal control over financial reporting (ICFR) for the Finning South America (FINSA) operation. Reporting to the RAAS Manager the Senior Advisor assists in providing independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the organization’s operations through financial, operational and compliance audit in addition to advisory projects.

This position will have key responsibilities in performing and assisting in the oversight of the assurance and risk advisory projects in alignment with the global RAAS mission and standards, and supporting the RAAS leader in achieving the RAAS team objectives.

Performs and assists in the oversight of various financial, operational, compliance, and information technology audits. Assists in the planning and scheduling of audits, including staffing and coordination with key business process owners and senior management. Follow up the action plans agreed in previous audits.

Acts as a facilitator in the execution of a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve business risk. Will be integral in continuing the transformation of the function to a value added, proactive, risk based function. Also, assists the RAAS Leader by working with the business to identify and prioritize the major risk factors in the business and identifying opportunities to improve them.

Assists in or oversees investigations of alleged misconduct, loss of assets or other irregularities and reports findings to senior management where necessary.

Specific Skills:
Extensive skill at collecting and analyzing complex data, evaluating information and systems, and drawing logical conclusions.

Skilled in planning and project management, and in maintaining composure under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines.

Effective verbal and written communications skills, including active listening and skill in presenting findings and recommendations and collaboration.

Skilled at negotiating issues and resolving problems.

Extensive skill in using a computer with word processing, spreadsheet, and other business software to prepare reports, memos, summaries, and analyses.

Knowledge:
Expert knowledge of the Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and the Code of Ethics developed by The Institute of Internal Auditors.

Knowledge of data analytics. Experience with ACL would be an asset.

Knowledge of information systems terminology, concepts, and practices. IT audit experience is an asset.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to Sarbanes-Oxley act.

Knowledge in SAP (Fi-Co, MM and SD modules)

Data Analytics knowledge/experience applied in audits

Education & Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
- Certification as a CIA, CISA, CPA is an asset.
- Minimum of four to seven years of full-time senior level experience in internal auditing, risk management or business analysis.

Travel is required within the FINSA Operation (Chile, Argentina, Bolivia and Uruguay), about 40% of the time.
