**Responsibilities**:
**Position Overview**

The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is experiencing high demand and tremendous growth. We are introducing ground-breaking OCI Services to the marketplace, many of which are being built new, by our product development teams.

We are looking for a Software Engineer with background in SRE and DevOps methodologies to help operate a set of OCI services that will support OCI's worldwide growth. This person will be responsible for various aspects of building a cloud service, including writing configuration files for infrastructure as code (IAAC) using Terraform, Chef, implementing data flows, being responsible for security aspects, and helping the team through the OCI processes for onboarding a new service.

**Responsibilities**:

- Build and Maintain an OCI Service
- Create configuration files using terraform/chef to lead infrastructure lifecycle.
- Creating and maintaining CI/CD build and deployment pipelines.
- Setup Cloud environments for development and production
- Ensure security is designed into the solution
- Solve sophisticated problems related to infrastructure cloud services to prevent problem recurrence.
- Partner with development teams as DevOps or SRE in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture.
- On-call monitor and manage uptime, end-to-end performance and operability of all service processes and dependent infrastructure to meet SLAs
- Demonstrate clear understanding of automation, orchestration, change management and disaster recovery principles.
- Own patching, deployments, metrics, monitoring, and general operations, as well as process automation for services.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Have at least 1+ years of experience building and supporting scalable, highly available, and secure solutions.
- Relevant experience in Cloud Infrastructure knowledge to include:

- Cloud network architectures, DNS, Routing Rules, Load Balancers.
- Security, SSL, Certificates.
- Automation using Terraform.
- Experience with components like secret storage, containerization, software-defined networking.
- Experience with programming in a high-level language such as Python, BASH scripting, JavaScript, etc.
- Experience with using and building CI/CD pipelines with git-based repositories, defining & building Docker images, Agile, DevOps, and DevSecOps methodologies and practices.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.
- Experience with networking technologies (SDN, routing, switching, IP addressing, DNS, Load balancers, etc.)
- Being proactive about security and fault tolerance
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent related field experience.

**Bonus Points**:

- Experience building cloud-based solutions
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure certification a plus
