**Position Summary**

Bechtel is seeking a Control Systems & Instrumentation Senior Designer for the Mining & Metals team, based in Chile. The position will be responsible for Developing designs for complete and complex engineering systems, structures, and plant arrangements with minimum supervision. Planning and executing the presentation of these in graphic form or in detailed scale models. Working independently on design projects.

**Responsibilities**

The Control Systems & Instrumentation Senior Designer is principally responsible for:

- Developing 3D Model in S3D and extraction of Instrument, RIO Cabinets and Junction Box Location Plan drawings in Smart Sketch.
- Preparing Instrument Wiring Drawing and Loop Drawings using SPI Wiring and Loop Generation Modules.
- Developing Cable Block Diagrams, Cable Schedule, Cable Routing & Tray Route Layout, JB Termination Drawing, Control & network patch panels drawings.
- Developing Instrument Hook Up Drawings using MicroStation and AutoCAD and generation of Hook Up Sketches using SPI.
- Preparing Tray / Trench Layouts & Cable Routing Index and MCT Layouts.
- Responsible for 30%, 50% and 90% Model Reviews and resolution of tags with Client, Sub Contractors, and Vendors.
- Performing Clash Checks in 3D Model and coordinate with other disciplines and other stake holder(s) to develop a clash free system design.
- Supporting I&C commodities in Modularized Design
- Preparing Control Room and Electrical Substation Layout Drawings
- Preparing MTO and development of Material Requisition of Instrumentation for Cables, Conduits, Instrumentation Bulks.
- Locating and optimizing Cable Lengths of Remote I/O Cabinets, Loading of JB and RIO Cabinets, estimation of cable and Home Run Cable Length for estimates.

**Qualifications and Skills**

**Basic Qualifications**

The Control Systems & Instrumentation Senior Designer shall be knowledgeable and/or experienced in:

- Bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) in engineering or scientific discipline, AND a minimum of 8 - 10 years of relevant experience.
- Possesses either a recognized degree in electrical, electronic, automation, or similar engineering from an accredited university.

**Additional Qualifications**
- Highly proficient in S3D, SPI, Navisworks, AutoCAD and MicroStation
- Thorough knowledge in P&IDs, Cable Schedule, IO List and Network Architecture.
- Remote I/O Design of major DCS Vendors.
- Skill in reading, interpreting, and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups.
