Position Overview:
Proporcionar apoyo a una amplia gama de iniciativas de desarrollo corporativo relacionadas con las actividades de crecimiento orgánico e inorgánico de Finning, con un enfoque en Finning South America. Sus responsabilidades basadas en proyectos serán asignadas y administradas de cerca por el Jefe de Desarrollo Comercial y de Negocios - Finning South America, aunque con el tiempo y la creciente confianza se espera que trabaje cada vez más de forma independiente. La investigación y el análisis que realice desempeñarán un papel fundamental en la evaluación de nuevas oportunidades estratégicas y asociaciones que ayudarán a informar las decisiones comerciales clave. Estas decisiones incluirán nuevas estrategias e inversiones que mejoren las capacidades organizacionales, impulsen el crecimiento de los ingresos, mejoren la eficiencia operativa o mitiguen el riesgo.
**Job Description**:

We are looking for a M&A Specialist who will be in chargo of provide support a wide range of Corporate Development initiatives related to Finning’s organic and inorganic growth activities, with a focus on Finning South America.
The project-based responsibilities will be assigned and closely managed by the Head of Commercial and Business Development - Finning South America, though with time and growing confidence the M&A will be expected to increasingly work independently. The research and analysis will play a critical role in assessing new strategic opportunities and partnerships which will help inform key business decisions. These decisions will include new strategies and investments that enhance organizational capabilities, drive revenue growth, improve operating efficiencies or mitigate risk.
Major Job Functions:
- Financial Analysis
- Assist in the sourcing, evaluation and execution of M&A transactions, joint venture partnerships, commercial agreements and other growth opportunities
- Analyze target companies’ budgets, income statement forecasts, and other financial data
- Develop and update complex financial models to support potential investment opportunities and that guide strategic decisions
- Exercise advanced financial and data analysis techniques and other tools to effectively simulate outcomes and produce forecasts
- Prepare presentations based on analysis, which will be presented to various stakeholders, including the executive management team and board
- Complete ad hoc analysis as required
- Commercial Due Diligence
- Assemble and synthesize due diligence information on potential mergers & acquisition transactions (products, operating facilities, key capabilities, ownership, financial performance, etc.)
- Industry and Competitive Research
- Conduct benchmarking of other industry participants and competitors, locally and globally
- Lead and synthesize industry research and analysis into insights on emerging opportunities that span across business development, strategic alliances, M&A, divestment, among others
- Stay updated with emerging market trends and best practices
Specific Skills:
- High level of critical thinking to formulate business issues into analytical problems and devise actionable solutions
- Strong cross-cultural and cross-functional teamwork skills demonstrated and maintained through relationship-building and emotional intelligence
- Exceptional numeracy skills and have a passion for deriving insights from analyses
- A flexible & problem-solving mindset, excellent attention to detail
- Competency using MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
- Fluency in Spanish and English
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with strong sense of professionalism
- The ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships and can exemplify a “can-do” attitude
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask.
Knowledge an Education:
- Understanding of financial modeling (including DCF, comparables and precedent valuations) and corporate finance concepts
- Ability to build models using sensitivity analysis that allow for dynamic ‘what if’ situations
Prior experience in investment banking, consulting, private equity, venture capital, corporate development or transaction services / M&A advisory
- Experience or exposure working across various countries in South America a plus
- Post-secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or relevant disciplines
