** Hiring Rate: $33,826**

** General Duties and Responsibilities**: Perform routine manual work in the cleaning and maintenance of recreation facilities and grounds. Duties include cleaning and maintaining the interior and exterior of the facility by such tasks as sweeping, mopping, removing litter, setting up tables and chairs, weed-eating and mowing; providing general assistance to patrons, and making minor repairs.

** Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**: Must have ability to follow simple oral and written instructions; ability to maintain effective relationships with the public and other employees; excellent customer service skills. Must have knowledge of cleaning methods and materials and the ability to utilize cleaning supplies in an effective manner, including floor buffer; ability to maintain cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the facility; ability to lift 25 lbs. frequently and push/pull up to 50 lbs. routinely and perform a variety of manual work, including such physical tasks as standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and kneeling. Additional duties will include maintaining both West End Park and Ridge St Park daily with cleanliness of the parks and the restrooms, keeping sidewalks and picnic shelters clean and free of debris and basketball court blown off.

** Requirements**: NC Drivers License required. Some experience in general cleaning and maintenance work strongly preferred.

** Normal Work Hours**: Monday - Friday 7 - 3 p.m.; some weekend work and work during special events may be required.
