Ms Music Teacher

We are seeking an experienced educator for the one semester term position of **Middle School**
**Music Teacher**for the next semester (February - June 2026) according to the following skills and
qualifications.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Degree and teaching certification that covers Music grades 6-8
- Middle School Concert Band teaching experience and training, including Beginning Band.

This includes experience teaching beginners how to play flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet,
trombone, euphonium, and concert percussion.
- Middle School experience teaching choir.
- Music teaching experience using the National Core Arts Standards.
- Experience directing school concerts and performances, including musical theater shows.
- Solid conceptual and applied knowledge of current research and trends in curriculum,
- instruction, and assessment.
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with colleagues.
- A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in music education.
- English (native or near-native proficiency).
- Preferred qualification: experience as music director for a middle school musical.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities** Contribute to fostering the mission, vision, and values of Nido.
- Engage in the Nido community by promoting a positive, collaborative school culture.
- Teach a range of grades and proficiency levels for Band classes for grades 6-8, starting with
- absolute beginners.
- Teach a grade 7 elective Choir class.
- Maintain instrument inventory records, ensuring that all instruments are checked out and
- returned to students in good working condition.
- Organize one evening concert featuring all middle school music ensembles.
- Uses the school's guiding statements and curriculum to determine appropriate learning
- objectives.
- Creates a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment where all students feel safe and

cared for.
- Monitors and evaluates student progress and achievement in relation to learning objectives
- Uses a body of learning evidence to inform instruction.
- Engage in the co-curricular program at Nido by advising a club or coaching an athletic team.
