Software Engineer IV

SAN RAMONAs Software Engineer Principal, your specific responsibilities will include:

- Design complex systems requiring considerable judgment and design experience within a single scope.
- Perform design reviews for Levels I- III staff designs and provides feedback and design support.
- Has authority for system design on low to medium complexity systems.
- Develop standards, frameworks, and platforms used by other Software Engineers to complete development activities.
- Responsible for base modules and components that serve as building blocks for larger systems.
- Perform code review on modules and components of other staff levels.
- Has approval authority for Level III staff deliverables.
- Perform unit test planning and execution for own code.
- Create standards and frameworks used for software testing and delivery.
- Review unit test plan and results with other levels of staff.
- Has approval authority for unit and integration test strategies and plans.
- Analyze and resolve significant production interruptions classified as SWAT production issues.
- May analyze and resolve highly complex production issues defining approach and guidelines as required to resolve issue.
- Level III support.
- Provide leadership and guidance to other levels of staff.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- 9+ years’ Software Engineering experience with BS in Engineering or related field and 14+ years’ equivalent experience in a related field within a medium-to-large IT organization. 7+ years’ with MS in Engineering or related field.
- 8+ years’ of professional experience in software analysis, development, engineering and support in a large corporate setting.
- 8+ years’ experience with multiple programming or scripting language (c#, Java, JavaScript, SQL).
- Expert with 8+ years’ relevant experience in Microsoft container, Open Source container, Java platforms, PeopleSoft.
- 5+ years’ experience with interfaces (XML or others) and Web Services (or other messaging).
- 5+ years’ experience mentoring and leading software engineers.
- Experience working in proof of concept based and exploratory product development.
- Experience with various full cycle software development methodologies, tools and practices.
- Excellent knowledge on software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Excellent knowledge of n-tiered architecture.
- Excellent knowledge DB structures.
- Good knowledge of network concepts.
- Ability to interact and communicate with customers of varying levels of expertise.
- Ability to communicate complex technical information to less-technical users.
- Ability to communicate in-depth business processes to technical resources.
