The company is focused on delivering a high quality portfolio of wind and solar assets across high-growth markets in Latin America, Africa and Asia. **Summary of the Role**: Mainstream Renewable Power (MRP) is currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager, responsible for conceptualize, identify and analyze MRP’s new business opportunities, build relationships with potential partners and/or investors, perform market analysis, and management of renewable energy projects including wind, solar PV and battery storage, contributing to the expansion of the company’s global renewable energy footprint. **What you will do?** **_ Business Development_** - Develop, maintain and promote the business case for each development project (Wind, Solar & Storage), communicating the rationale to invest in a project to Senior Management Team. - Cooperate with Commercial & M&A departments in the origination of business opportunities in line with MRP’s objectives. - Ensure market monitoring to identify opportunities and business models. - Cooperate in the due diligence process for projects and determine its viability for investment and further development. - Assist with the negotiations of commercial agreements and project finance activities in order to maximize value creation to MRP. - Collect and share competitive information and regulatory data for market opening, to assist in overall strategies for business development activities in new markets. - Scan the market for key policy and regulatory changes and competing developments that may affect existing or future MRP initiatives. - Develop and cultivate relationships with key stakeholders in the industry, representing MRP confidently and knowledgeably in public. **_Project Management_** - Manage the business development process until it is ready to be handed over to operations. - Developing business in line with Mainstream’s Global Development Standard. - Collaborate closely with other internal teams to support a project’s development and/or investment process. - Keep management informed of business progress and market insights, on a regular basis. **What we require?** - Civil electrical/mechanical/industrial engineering or similar, from an accredited university. Finance skills is a plus. - At least 3 years of experience in the electric energy industry, specifically in business development and project development. At least 8 years of total working experience. - Experience of contract negotiations and commercial acumen an advantage. - Willingness to travel to sites which are in generally remote areas. - Full clean driver’s licence. **What we offer?** We offer you the opportunity to work in a dynamic and entrepreneurial organisation, a diverse workplace with regards to gender, age and cultural background in a growing market in a fast-paced industry.
