**Position Summary**
Bechtel is seeking a SQR Supervisor for the Mining & Metals team, based in Chile. The position will be responsible for Responsible for leading Supplier Quality Representative (SQR) personnel within an assigned geographic area in administering GSG and client policies, procedures, and quality objectives through direct contact with supplier personnel. Provides operational and functional leadership including assignment of personnel, training, and performance evaluation. These duties are in addition to basic SQR I and SQR II duties.
**Responsibilities**
The SQR Supervisor is principally responsible for:
- Monitors, controls and evaluates the activities and performance of Supplier Quality Representatives through personal observation at supplier plants and review of reports and correspondence.
- Coordinates personnel assignments, reviews expense, time reports and quality surveillance status reports to ensure proper personnel assignment, adequate coverage, workload balance and economical expenditures of work hours and travel expenses.
- Develops and leads technical service staff to meet the needs of a growing organization including hiring, performance evaluation, salary recommendations, counseling and termination.
- Supervises assigned SQRs during their performance of quality surveillance activities to ensure proper and consistent performance, and the timely execution of administrative responsibilities.
- Provided periodic reports to the General Manager listing quality problems encountered, workloading, general trend of industry in the geographical area and any items of quality interest or information.
- Administers department policies and procedures, interprets their meaning for assigned personnel and monitors their implementation by Supplier Quality Representatives to verify that policies and quality objectives are known, understood, and properly implemented.
- May act as Account Supervisor for assigned clients.
- Develops training programs for inspection personnel
- Assists in the development and/or interpretation of performance specifications to ensure the maintenance of client standards.
- Participates in and/or develops special technical educational programs for Supplier Quality personnel to ensure the understanding of and compliance with specified methods and procedures. Coordinates these activities with the General Manager to prevent duplication of efforts.
- Participates in and/or chairs special investigative groups or methods, procedures, and materials in supplier’s facilities and, as delegated by project, represents clients in problem analysis involving quality related standards and compliance to industrial code requirements.
- Provides guidance and/or direction to suppliers and quality representatives in problem resolution or prevention to forestall recurrence.
- Reviews technical documents, codes and standards with supplier personnel to ensure their understanding of, and compliance with requirements.
- Evaluates the supplier’s proposed manufacturing and quality control procedures and recommends preferred methods and procedures to limit the possibility of manufacturing non-conformities.
- Evaluates through independent judgment, the results of performance, reliability, or prototype tests performed by supplier personnel and recommends acceptance of test data or proposes corrective actions to project personnel for the disposition of disclosed non-conformities.
- Evaluates supplier’s compliance with industrial codes/standards; specified methods and procedures; and the maintenance/execution of quality systems. As delegated by client, approves supplier’s requests for modification of process controls.
