**Position Summary**

**Responsibilities**

The Electrical Designer is principally responsible for:

- Performing or directly managing the work of designers and drafters in a design group for a technology line of business. This work includes preparing schematics, study drawings, detailed 2D and 3D computer aided design (CAD) models and construction drawings.
- Preparing or assisting in the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations.
- Overseeing and checking that work complies with approved design standards to provide quality design, reliable and safe plant operation and construction economy.
- Preparing design and drafting procedures to standardize the design effort.
- Coordinating or conduct site visits as necessary to resolve problems and interpret drawings and documents.
- Reviewing or defining engineering scope changes, as necessary, for project management.
- Approving or preparing work progress reports, as required, for project and discipline use.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Bechtel Standard Computer Applications (BSAPs) relevant to design work and ensure maximum use is made of them.
- Supporting the creation of a work environment that fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation and satisfaction.

**Qualifications and Skills**

**Basic Qualifications**

The Electrical Designer shall be knowledgeable and/or experienced in:

- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or scientific discipline, AND Specialized courses in drafting, design, and engineering practices, OR Extensive experience in design and drafting.

**Additional Qualifications**
- Knowledge of Engineering Department Procedures (PDI), industry and regulatory standards, design criteria and codes relevant to the discipline.
- Knowledge of discipline design guidelines, mathematical formulas and design calculations used in the discipline.
- Knowledge of the technical responsibilities of other groups associated with the total design effort.
- Knowledge of procedures used for procurement and bulk quantity control applicable to the discipline.
- Knowledge of BSAPs.
