hace 7 días
Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)
**Main Purpose of Job**:
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) promotes the United Kingdom’s interests overseas, supporting UK citizens and businesses around the globe. The British Embassy in Santiago is part of its worldwide UK Government network and represents British political, economic and consular interests in Chile.
The Embassy is recruiting for a social media manager and digital campaigner to work as a key member of our Political and Communications Team and the wider embassy, managing our social media and driving the execution of our digital strategy across our social media channels through cross-mission collaboration.
We are looking to recruit a creative, dynamic, resilient and collaborative individual for this important, varied and fast-paced role. The position will support the delivery of the embassy’s work through a strategic approach to digital communications and engagement, setting the direction for our social media activity across the breadth of our priorities. You will be a key player in the Political and Communications Team: the go to person on social media for the whole embassy, including the Ambassador. You will take responsibility for ensuring a pipeline of social media posts and creative content, and will regularly evaluate the impact of campaigns learning from what has and hasn’t worked.
You will support the Comms team more broadly by joining the rota of people who compile our daily media summary and by helping maintain our web pages on gov.uk. You will also contribute to the wider embassy’s corporate objectives (eg. on learning and development; wellbeing; diversity and inclusion).
Roles and Responsibilities:
The jobholder will:
**[ Communications - 70%]**
- Create and curate engaging and shareable content to be used across social media and other digital channels, developing content calendars for the embassy’s social media properties.

- Using listening and research tools to obtain insight, track and report campaign performance to the team to aid content strategy development.
- Work with the embassy’s Head of Communications and teams throughout the embassy to develop campaign strategies and communications supporting the delivery of UK objectives, particularly to promote the UK-Chile relationship and UK foreign policy priorities. This will also involve programming and project activities to identify new ways to engage with target audiences.
- Lead, facilitate and participate in workshops to develop campaign ideas.
- Strengthen and maintain strong links with the FCDO’s regional and global communications networks in Latin America and in the UK to ensure BE Santiago fully benefits from and contributes to the significant comms capability outside of Chile.
- Provide regular feedback to senior management to report and evaluate progress on communication activities and responses.
**[Team Support - 25%]**
- Produce daily media summaries of press articles and social media trends relevant to the embassy and follow up on articles and themes of particular interest.
- Maintain up-to-date contact lists of key media and civil society organisations.

- Support budget monitoring, management and administration of the embassy’s Pol/Comms Communications budget.
