Lifting Operation Technician

The Lifting Operation Technician will participate in and execute the lifting operations and/or maintenance and commissioning that will be carried out with the Megatraction Product Line units belonging as much to our global customers requiring our services as our own Megatraction Products units that will be available for rent.

More precisely, the Lifting Operations Technician will work closely with the Regional Operations Manager and/or with other Lifting Operations Specialists in order to achieve the lifting, maintenance and commissioning mandate undertaken by Megatraction for his customers.

**Details of the position**
- After an order is received from a client, the Lifting Operation Technician will receive all the instructions available from the Regional Operations Manager or Lifting Operations Specialist to plan his travel, accommodation, medical and safety clearance in regard to the job to be effectuated at a customer’s site. He will then perform all the duties required to achieve the contract with the client.
- Along with Megatraction Lifting Operation Specialist, he then supervises the lift system installation on the shovel and ensures proper setup has been made. Once the setup is completed with the customer maintenance team, he then executes the lift usually with another Megatraction employee. He could be asked to supervise the loading of the equipment, its transportation, offloading, assembly and testing at the lift site identified by the client if needed.
- When the lift is completed, he secures the system and remains on the site if the client desires or usually returns to his home base waiting for the next assignment of Megatraction.
- When the mine informs Megatraction of the date for shovel reassembly, the Lifting Operation Technician returns to the site to lower the shovel down with the possibility of doing plane adjustments as required to help with center pintle reinsertion. Once completed, he shuts down the system and ensures it is stored properly for the next lift operation.
- Experience working on Mine Site;
- Expertise in maintenance of hydraulic and cable mining shovels (asset);
- Electrical or Mechanical Technician (asset);
- Is able to maintain a good relationship with all other members of the project and has very good communication skills;
- Is able to maintain a high level of health and safety environment;
- Respect and exceed Megatraction's standards of excellence in terms of attitude, professionalism, safety, customer satisfaction, and concern for safely completing work;
- Able to read technical drawings (structural, mechanical, hydraulic and electrical);
- Comfortable in electrical/mechanical/hydraulic and automation troubleshooting;
- Be able to execute some repairs by himself, not afraid to get his hands dirty;
- Knowledgeable in planning and executing lifting/undecking Shovels(asset);
- Has worked in an open pit mine environment (asset);
