The Affordability Lead is an office-based role focus on optimizing Pfizer’s financial support model to patients, in close partnership with the Patient Experience team. The Affordability Lead is responsible for:
- Defining the overall affordability strategy for the country/cluster across all TAs, working closely with Category Leads, CBLs and Access Strategist- Driving the creation/consolidation of cross-category affordability platforms tailored to patients’ affordability support needs across multiple products, addressing the most significant types of affordability challenge faced by patients- Building relationships with key partners and suppliers in the Affordability ecosystem and developing Pfizer’s partnership with important ecosystem players over time- Leading the in-country adoption/adaptation of Pfizer’s global Digital Hub for affordability in close partnership with Digital and Patient Experience teams- Tracking the relevant performance metrics for affordability programs and proactively identifying strategies to optimize performance, in partnership with the Patient Experience team- Working with Access Strategist and CBLs to ensure affordability plans are defined and documented for every new launch asset at least 12 months before launch, and advising on the incorporation of new products into existing programs- Working with global and regional colleagues and counterparts within the Affordability community of practice to leverage economies of scale and align offerings across markets where viable
Key Accountabilities:
The Affordability Lead will be accountable for:
- Understanding and mapping the patient journey and most significant affordability challenges faced by patients for all key Pfizer assets in the country/cluster- Defining the overall strategy to optimize affordability programs and platforms across the Pfizer portfolio, in partnership with the PHI Lead- Setting, monitoring and achieving key milestones aligned to this strategy- Ensuring key performance metrics for affordability programs/platforms are tracked and kept up to date in the EM Affordability tracker by Patient Experience team- Participating in global and regional affordability Communities of Practice and aligning affordability POAs with regional and global PHI, and the global affordability team- Ensuring affordability plans are defined for each new asset at least 12 months ahead of launch and uploaded to the EM Affordability Tracker- Informing the country LT on progress of affordability strategy and engaging and training the local cross-functional organization on affordability topics as needed- Being main point of contact for key Affordability partner organizations and building long term strategic partnerships with important ecosystem partners. Negotiating and signing agreements as necessary/appropriate in partnership with Patient Experience team

The Affordability Lead will be expected to demonstrate:
- Strong commitment to patient focus
- Strong understanding of the local healthcare system and patient journey
- Strong understanding of different types of potential affordability solution and the potential benefits, limitations and types of affordability challenge addressed by each
- High level of financial and numerical acumen and insight into the operating models of other relevant sectors, including the financial and health tech sectors
- Strong track record of partnering with external organizations, such as patient groups, customers and strategic suppliers
- Strong communications skills and the ability to inspire and motivate organizational change
- Strong project management skills
- A broad knowledge of Pfizer’s portfolio and ability to work flexibly across multiple products
- A strong tack record of working cross-functionally to address complex challenges
- A flawless record of highly disciplined execution to metrics and timelines
- Demonstrated commitment to execution with integrity and Pfizer’s values
Knowledge/Requirements:
- At least 10 years’ experience in a relevant sector, including pharmaceuticals, healthcare, patient services, financial services or health tech
- Relevant qualifications in healthcare (e.g. MPH), business (e.g. MBA) or finance an advantage
- Fluent Spanish and English a requirement.
