Job Description – Waiter (Cruise Ship)
Position Overview

As a Waiter onboard a cruise ship, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences to guests in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. This role requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high standards of hospitality while living and working at sea.

Key Responsibilities

Provide courteous, professional, and prompt service to guests in assigned dining areas.

Take food and beverage orders, explain menus, and make recommendations when appropriate.

Ensure correct serving of meals and drinks, following company and safety standards.

Set up, clean, and reset tables efficiently to maintain a high turnover and smooth service.

Handle guest requests and complaints with professionalism and a problem-solving attitude.

Coordinate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of orders.

Comply with all hygiene, sanitation, and safety regulations onboard.

Participate in training sessions, safety drills, and team meetings as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or resort.

Strong communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus).

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with guests from diverse cultures.

Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a team-oriented environment.

Knowledge of wine, cocktails, and international cuisine preferred.

Willingness to live and work onboard for 6–8 months contracts.

Must pass medical examinations and hold necessary maritime certificates (e.g., STCW).
