Who are we looking for?

GHD is seeking a Senior IT Systems Administrator to provide technical leadership for IS Operations-related activities and projects within the Americas economic region. This critical role is the primary technical escalation point for Service Delivery on Microsoft Azure and Windows Server based Systems, Platforms, AVD and HPC Technologies, ensuring the administration, maintenance, and future state of Information Services Operations technologies.

This position is based in our Santiago, Chile office.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:  

  • Provision, manage, monitor, and decommission Systems and Platforms to ensure their availability, reliability, and security.
  • Automate deployment and configuration management using scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python.
  • Work closely with our Enterprise Technology teams to facilitate seamless integration and alignment of technologies and services with business requirements, policies, and sound IT practices.
  • Maintain vulnerability management and business continuity for Cloud and On-prem infrastructure.
  • Provide high level technical guidance and support to Service Delivery team members for IS Operations activities and projects across the Americas region.
  • Ensure system design, development, deployment, and security functions align with regional requirements and GHD standards.
  • Build strategic cross-functional partnerships with Technology and Service Delivery leaders to drive operational resolutions, innovation, and process improvement.

Skills and Competencies

  • Extensive knowledge of modern platform technologies and upcoming trends.
  • Motivated, self-driven learner with complex problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proactive, professional, and collaborative communication style.
  • Experience managing Azure Virtual Desktop or other DaaS/VDI solutions.
  • Solid experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Azure products: Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, Conditional Access, and Microsoft Endpoints Manager (Intune).
  • Experience with Azure Virtual Desktop management or other DaaS/VDI solutions. Orchestration via Nerdio is beneficial.
  • Sound Information Systems project management skills.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a global systems administrator role/environment, with at least 3 years in a senior-level position supporting Microsoft environments, enterprise connectivity, cyber security, public and private cloud. 
  • Certification in associated technology disciplines (e.g., Cisco, Azure, M365, MCSA, MCSE, etc) advantageous.
  • Experience working with remote, multi-cultural teams.
