The Role
As part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will have responsibility for assessment of care needs and evaluation of programmes of care ensuring the delivery of high quality care to patients. In the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse/Team Leader the post holder will have continuing responsibility for the management and clinical leadership of the area including supervision, development and deployment of staff.
Duties may vary with the type of ward/department and the degree of patient dependency.

What we'll need you to bring
- Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Degree Level
- Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality / area of practice.
- Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality / area of practice.
- Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
- Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification
- The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative
- Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Effective time management skills
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
- This post will require working across all the acute sites at times
It would be great if you also have
- Post registration practice
- Expert practice in the specialty
- Evidence of personal contribution to service planning and redesign projects
- Excellent team communication skills.
- Well developed written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to plan and organise workload within a busy service
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively across professional boundaries and with all stakeholders.
- Ability to monitor effectiveness of own and others' clinical practice through quality assurance strategies such as audit, peer review and clinical supervision.
- Awareness of the ability to work in accordance with relevant national and local healthcare policies.

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
Location and Working Pattern
This role will be based in Gynaecology / Infertility within University Hospital Monklands
The working pattern for this role is Monday - Friday
