About the Company

The client is a leading specialist in pre-fabricated steel balconies and stairs in the residential and commercial buildings Construction industry.

About the Role

A Topographer or Civil Engineer who is a 3D Laser Scanning Surveyor is a specialist responsible for capturing highly accurate spatial data of buildings and structures — both internally and externally — using advanced laser scanning technology. The role involves operating terrestrial laser scanners and related equipment to collect millions of data points, creating detailed 3D point clouds that are used for as-built documentation, BIM modelling, refurbishment planning, and structural analysis.

Responsibilities
:

  • Conduct 3D laser scanning surveys of buildings, facades, interiors, and complex structures.
  • Register and process point cloud data using specialized software (e.g., Leica Cyclone, FARO Scene, Trimble RealWorks, or Autodesk ReCap).
  • Produce accurate 2D drawings, 3D BIM models, and digital twins for architects, engineers, and facility managers.
  • Ensure data quality, precision, and alignment with project control networks.
  • Collaborate with design, construction, and asset management teams to provide spatial data for planning, renovation, and maintenance projects.

Adhere to safety standards and project requirements while operating in live or confined environments.

Qualifications
:

  • Proficiency in 3D laser scanning and point cloud registration.
  • Civil Engineering degree or Topography Diploma
  • Driving licence
  • Experience with BIM integration and modelling (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks).
  • Understanding of building geometry, construction methods, and materials.
  • Strong spatial awareness, data accuracy, and attention to detail.

Knowledge of surveying principles and coordinate systems.

Required Skills
:

  • Proficiency in 3D laser scanning and point cloud registration.
  • Proficiency with Total Station, levels, Civil 3D
  • Experience with BIM integration and modelling (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks).
  • Understanding of building geometry, construction methods, and materials.
  • Strong spatial awareness, data accuracy, and attention to detail.

Knowledge of surveying principles and coordinate systems.
