Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. Job Summary
In this role, you will plan, develop, and review mechanical design work, produce drawings and documentation, and prepare design estimates for a project. You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review and approve drawings, calculations, and bid summaries. You will solve complex technical issues and ensure mechanical designs comply with all regulations and standards.

Major Responsibilities

• Planning, developing, coordinating and reviewing design work within a small-size Mechanical design work group on projects of medium size or assignments in support of global business unit.
• Producing drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scope including design of earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing.
• Coordinating and interfacing as directed with the day-to-day technical work of Mechanical engineers, scientists, specialists, designers and drafters.
• Communicating complex technical issues and recommending solutions to upper management.
• Preparing or overseeing the preparation of Mechanical design estimates and work plan in accordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and managing implementation and performance accordingly.
• Developing Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), Bechtel design guides, appropriate Bechtel Standard Computer Applications (BSAPs) and administrative practices.
• Coordinating with client representatives as delegated to obtain approval on phases of work.
• Reviewing key Mechanical engineering drawings and calculations and bid summaries.
• Mentoring Mechanical designers and drafters by providing appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development.
• Ensureing Mechanical systems designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.

Education And Experience Requirements
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) with minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the development and management of P&IDs.

Required Knowledge And Skills

• Knowledge of equipment and material fabrication sequencing.
• Knowledge of the application of engineering and construction materials related to the discipline's design responsibilities.
• Knowledge of technical standards, including ISA S5.1, ISO 10628, ANSI/ISA-5.1
• Knowledge of Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), industry and regulatory standards, design criteria and codes relevant to the discipline.
• Knowledge of discipline Design Guides, mathematical formulas and design calculations used in the discipline.
• Knowledge of technical responsibilities of other groups, associated with the total design effort.
• Knowledge of procedures used for the procurement and quantity control of bulk materials applicable to the discipline.
• Knowledge of BSAPs applicable to specific discipline work.
• Skills in oral and written communication.
• Advanced written and spoken English is valued.
• Operate with desirable professional autonomy.
