As a Research Scientist on our team, you can expect a competitive salary, estimated at $85,000 per year, based on your experience and qualifications.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Research Scientist to join our team at NOIRLab. The successful candidate will conduct scientific research, support mission-critical activities, and contribute to the development of new capabilities for our telescopes. Your expertise will be utilized to assist users, develop documentation, and participate in calibration and testing of instrumentation and telescope subsystems.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • PhD in Astronomy, Physics, Planetary Science, or a closely related field
  • At least two years of research or instrumentation/observatory experience post-PhD
  • Fluency in English; bilingual capability in Spanish is an asset
