We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced professor to join our faculty as an Assistant or Associate Professor in Clinical Research and Epidemiology in Infectious Diseases. The successful candidate will have a strong background in research and teaching, with a proven track record of publishing high-quality research papers and teaching undergraduate and graduate students.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and collaborate on developing independent and internationally recognized research in the field of infectious diseases and epidemiology, resulting in the generation of new knowledge with significant implications for human health.
- Develop and teach courses in infectious diseases, immunology, clinical epidemiology, and epidemiological data analysis to undergraduate and graduate students.
- Perform research and academic activities that link the scientific interests and capacities of the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Biological Sciences, with the aim of strengthening collaborative research between the two faculties.
- Establish collaborations with researchers in the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Biological Sciences, or other academic units within the university to develop interdisciplinary research.
- Obtain competitive external research funding to support research projects.
- Develop outreach activities with a significant impact on society and the general public.
- PhD degree in Epidemiology, Methodology in Clinical Research, or Infectious Diseases, with demonstrable training in the ethics, design, execution, and analysis of clinical and epidemiological studies, including advanced biostatistical analysis skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to carry out active independent research and to obtain funding for research.
- Demonstrate potential for excellence and a strong vocation for all aspects of academic life, be highly motivated to continuously improve their teaching skills, and have a genuine interest in getting involved with our graduate programs (especially the doctoral programs).
- Demonstrated proficiency in English. Applicants do not need to speak Spanish at the moment of the application but should be able to teach in Spanish in the short term (two years).
