Laboratory Supervisor

About the Role

Corteva Agriscience is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join our Research and Development facility at Arica, Chile.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate laboratory operations, ensuring high sample integrity and delivering consistent variety purity.
• Plan and execute activities to maintain the highest quality and efficiency in double haploid production.
• Manage lab activities, including hiring contract labor, maintaining lab supplies, and training employees.
• Oversee the maintenance and calibration of capital goods, ensuring uninterrupted processes.
• Monitor quality controls and adjust deviations immediately.
• Collect and analyze production data, generating reports and providing updates to supervisors.
• Ensure safety and regulatory compliance, including proper chemical storage and hazardous waste disposal.

Requirements

• University degree in agriculture, crop sciences, plant biology, or biological sciences.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in a laboratory setting, with experience leading work groups.
• Experience in maintaining well-organized lab records and managing common lab equipment.
• Background in descriptive and inferential statistics, with proficiency in Windows programs and ability to learn new software.
• Written and spoken English knowledge, with intermediate level a plus.
