Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Developer to join our dynamic team at Uride Technologies Inc.

This is a full-time remote position offering a competitive salary of $120,000-$180,000 per annum based on experience and qualifications.

About the Role:

The Senior Backend Developer will play a critical role in managing server-side development, handling databases, and ensuring the smooth functionality of our platform.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an architectural mindset who is passionate about building scalable systems from scratch.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements
  2. Design and develop server-side applications and APIs
  3. Optimize application logic and database queries for efficiency and performance
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve back-end related issues and bugs
  5. Conduct regular maintenance and updates to ensure system stability
  6. Develop and maintain back-end components of our web applications
  7. Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
  8. Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
  9. Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation
  10. Participate in code reviews and contribute to team and personal learning
  11. Stay up-to-date with new technology trends and apply them within the organization

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of professional development experience in backend (and/or full-stack), demonstrating a deep understanding of any of the following: Golang, Node.js, JavaScript, or TypeScript. Knowledge of functional programming is a strong plus
  • Near familiarity with a variety of technologies including GraphQL, Web sockets, Kubernetes, Kafka, ElasticSearch, Kibana, DynamoDB, and PostgreSQL
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems architecture, encompassing consensus, convergence, load balancing, data consistency, and performance/efficiency constructs
  • Ability to design and implement APIs with a focus on performance, scalability, and maintainability
  • Proficiency in identifying and resolving performance and scalability issues, particularly in systems serving millions of users with high availability
  • Outstanding documentation and written communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts into understandable, actionable insights
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with an understanding of when to lead and when to step back
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback on code reviews and actively participate in activities such as RFC discussions, sprint planning, etc
  • Kindness, a high EQ, and adeptness at listening, communicating with, and collaborating with other team members
  • High adaptability and a strong desire for continuous learning and growth
  • A passion for solving complex problems
