UNESCO is seeking an experienced Education Consultant to support the development of teacher policies and frameworks in Latin America and the Caribbean. The successful candidate will work closely with the UNESCO Regional Bureau for Education in Santiago to provide technical assistance to countries and regional organizations.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide technical support for the formulation, management, and implementation of projects related to teacher education.
- Assume roles of liaison with external collaborating partners.
- Work in an integrated manner with colleagues of UNESCO Santiago and liaise with UNESCO Offices in Latin America and the Caribbean.
- Contribute to the analysis of policies related to teachers and their education.
- Develop thematic documents on policies, teacher education, and professional development.
- Provide technical assistance to countries and regional organizations.
- Prepare follow-up reports on section's projects related to teachers.
- Provide technical and administrative support for the publication process according to UNESCO guidelines.
- Prepare terms of reference for services that may be necessary.
- Support the writing of reports, materials, and correspondence in Spanish and English.
- Postgraduate studies (Master's or equivalent) in Education or related disciplines.
- Proven substantive work experience in teacher policies and frameworks.
- Proven substantive work experience in project coordination and management.
- Extensive previous experience in research.
- Superior skills in self-management and teamwork.
- Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English.
- A relevant PhD.
- Publications on teaching topics.
- Knowledge of Portuguese or French.
- Work experience in teaching topics at the international level.
- Experience or knowledge about the situation of teaching personnel in the region.
