About the Role:
PagerDuty empowers teams of all kinds to drive business forward through our Operations Cloud.
As a key member of our Product Development team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our Rundeck Cloud team by transforming an existing on-premises product into a best-in-class SaaS solution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, code, test, and deploy APIs, backend applications, and microservices to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable solutions to our customers.
- Collaborate closely with engineers across teams to drive innovation and growth.
- Solve complex technical challenges while helping to scale our product to meet increasing demand.
- Develop solutions that address customer pain points using a wide range of systems, processes, and technologies.
- Participate in our on-call rotation, triage, and address production issues as they arise.
Requirements:
- Full-stack experience, or backend-focused with a willingness to grow in full-stack engineering.
- Previous experience in Java is essential.
- Experience in building APIs and services in distributed, highly available systems.
- Experience with MySQL, DynamoDB, or other commonly used relational/noSQL databases.
- Experience with Kubernetes, EKS, or AWS is a plus.
- Development experience working on customer-facing and web-based systems.
- Strong written, verbal communication, and development practices are required.
- Experience working in an agile environment with iterative development and fast feedback.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Comfortable with loosely defined requirements, exercising analytical skills to clarify questions, share approaches, and collaborate with the team to build and test elegant solutions.
- Drive to achieve results.
- Nice to have: Grails, Hibernate, Spring Security.
- Nice to have: Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot or Micronaut.
- Nice to have: Build and deployment tooling such as CircleCI, Docker, AWS experience, Terraform, or similar.
- Desire to stay ahead of the latest industry trends and technologies, a track record of sharing contributions to the wider engineering community, and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Understanding of the importance of empathy and clear communication in reaching technical solutions quickly.
- Calm, assertive approach to diagnosing and fixing urgent problems.
- Experience with frontend web development, particularly with Vue.
This role requires occasional travel to our Santiago, Chile office to ensure seamless integration and collaboration.
