Job Opportunity at the Universidad Católica del Norte

We are seeking highly qualified individuals to join our team as Assistant Professors in Economics. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching graduate-level courses, developing an externally funded research program, and contributing to the department's interdisciplinary mission.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in economics and geography, with expertise in regional economics, economic geography, urban economics, natural resources economics, and economic development. A medium level of Spanish language proficiency is required.

Responsibilities include:

  • Contribute to graduate-level teaching
  • Teach undergraduate courses
  • Develop and maintain an externally funded research program
  • Contribute to the department's interdisciplinary mission

A doctoral degree closely related to the fields described above is mandatory. We expect applicants to have a strong curriculum vitae, a letter of application describing research and teaching interests, samples of writing or publications, and the names and contact details of two referees plus their recommendation letters.

Salary: We offer a competitive salary, estimated around $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
