Statistical Researcher

We are seeking a highly qualified Assistant Professor to join our Department of Statistics at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. The successful candidate will have a strong background in statistics, actuarial science, or a related field, with a proven track record of research and teaching experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pursue a vigorous research program, publishing high-quality papers in top-tier journals
• Teach three undergraduate/graduate courses per year in Spanish, with idiomatic support if required
• Contribute to the development of new courses and programs in statistics and data science

Requirements:

• Doctoral degree in Statistics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, or a related field
• Experience in research and teaching, with a strong publication record
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

What We Offer:

• An annual salary of approximately 29,162,000 Chilean Pesos (CLP), equivalent to US 44,000 or EU 38,000
• A starting funding of 8,000,000 CLP (approximately US 12,000 or EU 10,500) for the first three years
