Commercial Renewals Manager

About the Role:

The Commercial Renewals Manager will play a critical role in driving successful renewals and mitigating churn for our customers. This position requires a strong understanding of customer needs and a proven ability to negotiate complex deals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the subscription renewal process for a defined set of customers, ensuring continuous access to our products and services.
  2. Proactively manage a quarterly portfolio of 40+ customer renewals, with a focus on driving revenue growth and mitigating churn risk.
  3. Collaborate with Customer Success, Sales, and Okta Alliances teams to formulate a renewal strategy that meets customer objectives and accelerates their path to value.
  4. Build relationships with customer executives and stakeholders to understand their needs and identify opportunities for additional service, training, and support.
  5. Work closely with Deal Desk, Order Management, and Legal teams to ensure accurate contracts and terms.
  6. Prepare proposals, including renewal rate calculations, and review contracts and terms.
  7. Take initiative to improve team operations and contribute to assigned projects.
  8. Track and document all renewal activities in Salesforce and other business applications.
  9. Forecast renewals, upsells, and churn with accuracy.

Requirements:

  1. 3-5 years of experience in renewals, customer success, sales, account management, or equivalent customer-facing role.
  2. Comfort negotiating SaaS agreements.
  3. Demonstrated capability to close complex deals with a high degree of integrity and independence.
  4. Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  5. Strong oral, written, and presentation skills.
  6. Ability to organize, prioritize, complete activities, and meet deadlines on a daily basis.
  7. Requires ability to withstand frequent and intense pressure and maintain a positive and professional manner.
  8. Experience recording information in Salesforce or similar CRM system preferred.
  9. Team player with a high activity level, enthusiasm, self-motivation, and tenacity.
  10. Proven influencer and negotiator.
  11. 4-year college degree or equivalent business experience.
