We are seeking a seasoned technical professional to serve as a leader within Amazon data centers. The position will be responsible for ensuring overall availability and reliability, meeting or exceeding defined service levels of data center operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage on-site teams, including shift technicians, senior shift technicians, sub-contractors, and vendors, ensuring adherence to established practices and procedures.
- Oversee the operation and management of critical systems, including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, building monitoring systems, etc.
- Participate in strategic planning projects and contribute to the design and build out of new facilities.
- Analyze and improve operational metrics to drive efficiencies and develop plans to increase current facility efficiency.
- Maintain high standards of security and health & safety awareness.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in a data center or other critical environment, with expertise in electrical or mechanical systems.
- Advanced understanding of root cause analysis and troubleshooting/problem solving.
- Experience with lean methodologies, Six-Sigma, or similar qualification.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to share knowledge and train peers.
