The UN Resident Coordinator system aims to bring together the different UN agencies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operational activities at the country level. The 2018 UN reform delinked the Resident Coordinator system from the UN Development Programme (UNDP) and invigorated the authority and neutrality of Resident Coordinators. In Chile, the Office of the Resident Coordinator coordinates the 19 Agencies, Funds and Programmes.
**Responsibilities**:
Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual’s background and the internship period. Duties will include support in:
- Drafting minutes of internal and external meetings.
- Writing concept notes and proposals on topics related to activities of the United Nations in Chile.
- Support research and writing of the Cooperation Framework.
- Support the organization of national and local consultations, including methodological design and systematization of results.
- Assistance in organization and participation in meetings and events with internal and external actors; including logístical aspects.

Education
To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, the following conditions must be met:
(a) Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or,
(b) Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
- For this internship, studies in the area of sociology, politics and/or international relations is desirable. Statistics and quantitative methods studies are highly valued.
Work Experience
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Knowledge of (English / Spanish) is required.
Fluency in Spanish is required. Knowledge of English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language would be an asset.
NOTE: “Fluency” equals a rating of ''fluent'' in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and ¨knowledge of¨ equals a rating of ''confident'' in two of the four areas.
