Position Name: EAL Teacher for Elementary School
Reports to: Director of Student Support Services
Time commitment: Full-time

**Qualifications and Experience**
Teaching certificate that covers EAL- Minimum of 3-5 years teaching experience with EAL and academic interventions
- WIDA trained
- SIOP training or similar training preferred
- Experience with co-teaching and/or in class support in a school setting
- Must be fluent English, fluent Spanish preferred
- Experience working in a multicultural school environment
- Experience providing ongoing professional development to support EAL learners

- classroom- Professional attitude and excellent problem-solving skills
- Must be highly organized
- Excellent technology skills
- Experience with in class support and/or co-teaching

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
Uses school's guiding statements to determine appropriate learning objectives for the class- Monitors and evaluates student progress and achievement in relation to learning objectives
- Uses a body of learning evidence to inform content instruction and English language
- instruction- Collaborates effectively with colleagues in creating authentic learning experiences for
- students- Communicates effectively with teaching team and student support colleagues
- Contributes to the school community outside of the classroom (e.g., after-school activities,
- coaching, etc.)- Actively seeks professional growth opportunities through Nido’s PD Academy
- Creates a positive, safe inclusive learning environment
- Provides timely WIDA admissions reports upon request that determine student placement
