**Preferred Qualifications and Experiences**
- University degree in Early Childhood education.
- University degree/training in music education.
- Experience teaching music in an early childhood setting.
- Experience in writing sequenced curriculum for diverse learners.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English with advanced written and oral communication skills.
- Advanced English communication skills, both written and oral.
- Experience in a multicultural school environment.

**Skills**
Ability to design developmentally appropriate Music lessons that advance the Early Years
- school purpose statement and Units of Inquiry.- Ability to design Music curriculum that connects to Early Learning standards and the Music
- domain.- Ability to connect and interact with students on a developmental level appropriate for young
- children.- Excellent human relations skills and the ability to communicate effectively with both host
- country and international students and parents.- Ability to work both independently, and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- A passion for music and Early Childhood education.
- Plan learning objectives attending to the standards of the Early Years Music domain.
- Plan and deliver music lessons aligned with the Early Years Units of Inquiry.
- Develop music teaching strategies, techniques and materials which are delivered during
- whole class and/or small group instruction.- Create materials for the music centers which take into consideration: sound and silence,

core elements of pitch (melody and harmony), rhythm (meter, tempo, and articulation),
dynamics, and the qualities of timbre and texture.
- Support students to develop their creativity and expression through body percussion,

singing and different types of music performances.
- Plan, organize, and participate in special events such as Fiestas Patrias, celebrations of

learning, end of year celebrations, mini concerts, or as requested by the Director.
- Responsible for supervision, safety and well-being of students, both in the classroom and on

the playground.
- Assist classroom Teacher and Teaching Assistant during supervision of whole group and

small group activities.
- Maintain an orderly, clean, and safe classroom/school environment
- Communicate and coordinate all functions of the music program with the Teachers,
- Assistant Teachers and the Director.- Timely and clear communication with parents.
