**Primary Purpose of the Position**:

- Lead and coordinate product and process improvements within relevant quality guidelines and standards using appropriate quality engineering tools.
- Diagnose process performance indicators and trends using applicable analytical tools to effectively solve problems.
- Coach and teach Plant Optimization (PO) and use PO methods to drive process improvements. - Recognize and identify problems, and achieve solutions with appropriate tools and methods that deliver defined objectives which meet business needs.

**Principle Duties and Responsibilities**:
Main Responsibilities: Specific for NPI Engineer:

- Develop and introduce new tires in production environment on time, following GY Manual Design and GIC specifications.
- Communicate / Report results to GIC´s engineers and project managers.
- Plan and follow up project tasks to complete it on time.
- Analyze product adjustments and propose design/process improvement to mitigate it.
- Assure plant specifications are always matching corporate ones. Specific for Uniformity Engineer:

- Be aligned with NPI for new tires development aiming design for uniformity concept (robust tire release) Coordinate uniformity QA´s (monitors), giving priorities and expectations to keep process controlled.
- Track and Lead plant uniformity results and propose actions (corrective and preventive).
- Propose ideas for process controls improvements and work in collaboration within others plant departments.
- Train existing and new plant associates regarding importance of critical for quality in each process.
- Always use PO pillars to leverage and improve process controls. Specific for Product Engineer:

- Be aligned with NPI for new tires development aiming design for uniformity and process concept (robust tire release).
- Understand and Assure all GQMTS and QAI´s for their area of responsibility matches their local procedures and they are being followed by plant associates.
- Lead LPA completion and non-conformance closures on time in their area of responsibility.
- Lead FMEA and Control Plan update and utilization, providing necessary training for the plant associates.
- Lead all quality initiatives in their respective area, always reinforcing the importance of following the basics and speak up when something does not seem OK.
- Track and lead projects for waste reduction, working in collaboration within their area of responsibility and across the plant.
- Always use PO pillars to leverage and improve process controls.

**Education**:
**Experience**:

- 3.5 or more years’ experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and troubleshoot equipment and process problems
- Project management
