We are currently seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Technical Director to join one of the biggest Copper projects in the world. As the Technical Director, you will play a crucial role in leading and overseeing the technical integration and implementation of various production teams within our mining operations. This is a senior-level position that requires a strong background in mining along with exceptional managerial skills.

As the Technical Director, you will report directly to the Mine Director and collaborate closely with other department heads to ensure the efficient and safe execution of mining projects. Your expertise will be essential in driving mine design and planning, optimizing production processes, and ensuring regulatory compliance. **Responsibilities**
- Lead the Mine Technical, Mine Project, Exploration, and Resource areas within the Mining Department.
- Design and execute approved exploration and development programs for a major gold producer.
- Ensure resource and reserve models meet local and JORC requirements.
- Oversee the safe execution of field work by drilling teams.
- Support budgeting and business planning processes for mining, including mine planning and scheduling.
- Ensure technical readiness in geotechnical monitoring, ore reconciliation, regulatory compliance, ore quality control, surveying, tailings dam QA/QC, site GIS systems, and water balance/tailings planning.
- Manage staffing and deployment of resources in line with the master staffing plan.
- Monitor, manage, and develop staff to maintain a capable and competent team.
- Review progress and cost tracking reports, making necessary corrections.
- Take appropriate actions to address delays, bad weather, or emergencies at the mining site.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, damage, or delays at construction sites, ensuring compliance with procedures.
- Organize and update contracting work, including contract preparation and formalization.
- Fulfill the Performance Improvement Plan approved by the immediate manager and oversee the performance improvement plans of direct reports.
- Handle employer's and third-party assets with care.
- Provide first aid and report incidents to the manager.

**Requirements**:

- Technical University degree (Bachelor's, Master's).
- Minimum 15 years experience in technical integration and implementation of various production teams in mining.
- Base Metals experience 3+ years.
- Minimum 7 years in managerial roles in Open Pit environment.
- Greenfield experience.
- Strong mine design and planning skills, with the ability to generate and optimize plans and schedules.
- In-depth knowledge of mining operations, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Excellent knowledge of mobile fleet management systems
- Experience in geology and mine design work management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong character with good leadership and management.
