**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with software engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical designs.
- Collaborate with team members to refactor and optimize existing code for improved performance and maintainability.
- Document technical specifications, system design, and troubleshooting guides.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and advancements in IBM i RPG, Java, and Web Services development.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in IBM i RPG development, including proficiency in RPG IV and familiarity with IBM iSeries/AS400.
- Strong understanding of the RPG programming language, including its features, libraries, and tools.
- Experience in developing and consuming Web Services using technologies such as SOAP or RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in Java programming, with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
- Familiarity with modern software development practices, including version control, unit testing, and agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of database concepts and experience working with DB2 on IBM i.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Skills (not mandatory but advantageous):

- Experience with other programming languages such as COBOL or CL.
- Familiarity with modern web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of IBM iSeries tools and utilities, including SEU, RDi, and ACS.
- Understanding of IBM iSeries system administration and performance tuning.
- Experience with data integration and transformation using tools like IBM DataPower or IBM Integration Bus.
- Familiarity with IBM iSeries security principles and best practices.
