- Role: Specialist Technician - WebGen
- (Engineer/Rep - Technical Services)

- Base. Santiago, Chile- This role is responsible for technical expertise in the Through-Life Support team for Orica’s world-first WebGen through-the-earth electronic wireless blasting system. Key activities will include developing and providing 3rd level support to WebGen system field issues, testing faults and planning implementation of fixes and contributing to engineering workload.**What you will be doing**Safety, Health, Environment and Security (SHES)**:

- Actively participates in relevant regulatory requirements, company standards and works safely.
- Participate in safety initiatives, such as Hazard Studies and MHI verification/ assessments

**Business Effectiveness**:

- Provides a customer-centric response to WebGen field issues

**Technology Support and Improvement**:

- Provides 3rd level technical support and rectification across Orica’s WebGen product range
- Provision of technical support to the global business by actively participating in trouble shooting / technical quality investigations, including formal Root Cause Analysis.

**What you will bring**
- 5+ years’ experience in blasting, Electronic Systems and maintenance
- Proven strong analytical, fact-based approach to problem solving.
- Experience with product field technical support, customer engagement, and product development
- Develop support documentation and on-line articles
- Previous experience in Field-Maintenance of electronic equipment
- High Standards and resilience when dealing with SHES requirements.
- Strong communication skills, both verbaland written
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and attentive to details
- Ability to read and understand electronics schematics
- Experience with hazard analysis and safety standards
- Communication link between engineering teams and end users

**Role dimensions**
- No direct reports
- Works closely with Technology development teams in Australia and Canada
- Interacts with Orica technology end users and other internal stakeholders on a global basis.
- Some afterhours meetings are required to accommodate global contacts.
- Some travel to complete field testing.
- Metrics:
- Zero SHES incidents associated with Technology group work activities.
- Active SHES participation in Risk
- Assessments and Change Requests
- Field-support response rate: time to first action & time to resolution
- Project completion

**Your qualifications**
- Opencut & underground experience
- Experience with SAP Preventative Maintenance systems
- Spare parts sourcing and management - assess to ensure form, fit, function.
- Experience with Change Management processes, e.g., risk assessments and Alteration Authority submissions
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, or equivalent with >1 years relevant experience.
- Team-oriented and works collaboratively to achieve team goals, and maintains a positive attitude
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks to deadlines
- C and LabVIEW programming and embedded development tools or CAD experience
- Analogue & Digital circuit analysis and design, including embedded microcontroller, DSP, and embedded peripherals.
