At Grafton, from our specialized Energy and Mining business line, we are currently seeking a Civil Engineer Specialist with experience in renewable energies to join an important team of professionals.

THE ROLE:

- Reviews and analyses technical design and development of renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
- Identifies and solves engineering problems, and proposes innovative and sustainable solutions.
- Evaluates project siting constraints for wind turbines, PV as well as battery storage technology in order to optimize layouts and balance of plant design.
- Provides balance of plant cost estimates and proposes cost-efficient engineering concepts for the construction of renewable energy infrastructure.
- Supervises and coordinates the review of civil engineering documentation among different teams and departments.
- Conducts field inspections of renewable energy projects to ensure that technical designs and project specifications are met.
- Supports project management and interconnection teams to determine the routing of electrical infrastructure for the project.
- Prepares technical reports and presentations related to wind, solar and battery storage projects and supports management decisions.
- Coordinates bidding processes for different external engineering services and studies.
- Manages relationships with third-party engineering, procurement, and construction firms (EPC contractors) as well as other contractors

THE INDIVIDUAL:

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of specific experience in engineering and technical design of renewable energy projects.
- Demonstrates an advanced understanding of energy project development in Chile.
- Knowledge and understanding of technical regulations and industry standards related to renewable energy.
- Ability to analyze technical drawings and designs and to identify problems and solutions.
- Native/bilingual proficiency in Spanish, professional working proficiency in English.

Additional third languages such as German or Portuguese are a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with a wide variety of team members
- Openness to business travel
- Driver’s License, category B
