**About Nuton**

NutonTM is an innovative venture that aims to help grow Rio Tinto’s copper business. At the core of Nuton is a portfolio of proprietary copper leaching related technologies and capability - a product of almost 30 years of research and development. Nuton offers the potential to economically unlock copper from primary sulfide resources through leaching, achieving market-leading recovery rates and contributing to an increase in copper production at new and ongoing operations. One of the key differentiators of Nuton is the ambition to produce the world’s lowest footprint copper while having at least one Positive Impact at each of our deployment sites, across our five pillars: water, energy, land, materials, and society.

**About the Role**

We are looking for a **Technical Advisor** to provide support and advice to the larger Nuton technical team in the engagement with our partners and the evaluation of the viability and deployment of the Nuton technology at our partner sites. This encompasses providing advice on the development, coordination and engagement of the following areas of work: Resource/orebody evaluation, providing guidance for laboratory and on-site test work, providing inputs for and analyzing technical outputs and review of engineering technical designs (cost estimation or business case evaluations is a plus).

Reporting to the **Delivery Manager**, you will:

- Communication with the Nuton technical team, providing a fluent channel of the different test work programs at Bundoora and elsewhere.
- Collaborating with and supporting the Nuton Technology Transfer team in the managed transfer of Nuton technology and know-how to Escondida and their preferred engineering service provider(s).
- Driving a deep understanding of the interplay of the control parameters to optimize both the design and then the operation of the heap or columns.
- Trouble shooting and suggesting changes to the operational activities or program.
- Delivering the operational readiness scope of Nuton for the heap and auxiliary equipment, including leading the development/transfer of the technical manuals and onsite technical training
- Providing technical support to commissioning, start-up and performance guarantee testing.
- Actively work with the Delivery Manager to develop, monitor, manage and report on relevant evaluation test work and technology development activities.

**What you will bring**

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or science (GeoMetallurgy, Metallurgy, Chemical, Mechanical, Mining or any other related field).
- Experience in technical operational heap leaching expertise with a strong background in bio-heap leaching (7 to 10 years).
- Data acquisition and results analysis experience.
- Project experience with the ability to review deliverables to ensure continuity of the process design and tracking/supervision of activities/tasks related (operational readiness, test work, commissioning, etc.) (More than 3 years).
- Proven experience with stakeholders/clients and technical report writing.
- Ability to travel (sites).
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization and external vendors and stakeholders
- High English proficiency.
