The Associate Controller LATAM Strategic Initiavies works out of our Chile location in the Pharmaceutical division. Our broad portfolio of high-quality and differentiated branded generic medicines reaches across multiple therapeutic areas including gastroenterology, women's health, cardiometabolic, pain management/central nervous system, and respiratory.

The Associate Controller LATAM Strategic Initiavies purpose is to lead multi-regional initiatives that contribute to the growth (top/bottom lines), improve the gross margin of LATAM Business Unit through focused delivery on newly created Margin and Profitability (M&P) streams - projects / profitability drivers and manage cross functional array of responsibilities relating to Sales & Operational planning, Licensing and Acquisition (L&A) and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) optimizations.

**What You’ll Do**

Faces complex issues that differ from those typically faced within the industry. A key purpose of the position is to come up with new solutions to highly complex issues.

Leading gross margin initiatives on commercial front is a challenge that requires broad financial knowledge & business acumen so as not to take decisions that would have short-term benefit but harm the business and requires major mindset change / organizational transformational thinking for solutions to become sustainable. To be able to reach buy in from Commercial leaders while challenging their performance through data (knowing absence of systems, lack of historical trends, data analytics required) is a daily challenge required from this role. This process is further complicated by the need to work across multiple environments / legal entities and legacy business models.

Expected to set its own goals. Actions that affect other operating areas or functions of the company require approval before implementation. Work is typically reviewed on a semi-annual or annual basis.

Decision to allocate tasks across the region, performance improvement measures, areas of gross margin affiliate focus on annual basis, process enhancements across S&OP cycle.

**Required Qualifications**
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or related area, MBA in Accounting or Finance desirable.
- Proven track record (7+ years) of successfully managing the financial aspects of a medium business unit and establishing efficient/profitable operational procedures.
- Solid track record of driving productivity in all areas of the Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance sheet (including cash flow / working capital).
- Experience in developing financial models, future planning according to operating needs and growth strategies.
- Ability to work in a matrix reporting environment.
- Proven knowledge of both US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Strong leadership competencies are a must: set vision and strategy, build and inspire, know the business, drive for results, make the difficult decisions, and encourage an open environment.
- Advanced communication skills (bilingual: Spanish/English) and ablity to address and communicate to all organizational levels.
