A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join my global energy Client in the role of Chief Accountant cum Finance Manager for a permanent / staff position in Santiago, Chile. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Chief Accountant cum Finance Manager who is from an EPC background to join my client's financial team at a time of great opportunity and development. The Chief Accountant cum Finance Manager will be responsible for monitoring financial performance of the projects in Country as well as supporting and controlling all financial operations regarding project's execution. It is ideally suited to someone who has exposure in international environments.

**The Role**

The duties of the Chief Accountant cum Finance Manager will involve, but not be limited to:

- Monitors financial performance of Projects (P&L, cash flow, actual vs budget etc), ensuring accuracy and control
- Conducts the preparation of regularly monthly / quarterly / annually management accounts, Cash-flows, Forecasts and other relevant reports.
- Participates in project Budgeting preparation in cooperation with Project Director.
- Participates in contract negotiations (Clients - Sub-Contractors) with regards to financial issues.
- Ensures the accurate and timely recording of financial results, in accordance with local and IFRS standards
- Ensures timely closure of finance audit recommendations, participate in preparation, implementation, and monitoring of corrective action plans.
- Is accountable for the timely and smooth compliance with Local Tax Authorities.
- Deals with the company's banks regarding payments, receipts and foreign currency transactions.
- Coordinates all financial / admin matters with the local authorities in collaboration with the Project Director
- Coordinates labour and legal matters in cooperation with HQ's HR & Legal Dept.

**Essential Skills/Qualifications needed**:
The Chief Accountant cum Finance Manager will be expected to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

- University Degree in Finance and/or Accounting (a master's degree will be considered an asset)
- At least 8+years of relevant professional experience, with some experience required from an EPC sector with solar PV / renewable energy projects preferred.
- Financial reporting experience under IFRS and familiarity with key accounting judgements for engineering services businesses and accounting for long term projects.
- Exposure in international working environments
- Solid knowledge of Accounting, General Chart of Accounts and Tax matters.
- Solid communication skills and teamwork mentality
- Strong organising and planning skills, problem solving and analytical ability.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office, particularly strong experience in MS Excel.
- Knowledge of SAP will be considered an asset.
- Excellent use of English language (both oral and written) is essential
- Must be proactive in your work attitude and a self-starter
- Must be comfortable to travel as some business travels to various sites within Chile might be required
