**Job Description**:

- Asset Strategy and Reliability (AS&R) is more than the maintenance or care of physical assets; it is a part of the core business of the organization to ensure the assets perform their required function and allow Anglo American to meet its strategic, operational and compliance requirements.

The Group AS&R’s purpose is to optimize plant and equipment life-cycle performance to improve Group production performance. To achieve this, Group AS&R expectations for the global function are:

- A whole of life approach to asset decision-making that is evidence based and value focused
- An asset management plan in place for critical plant and equipment
- A focus on optimizing equipment service levels, costs and performance.
- A risk based approach consistent with our model
- An understanding that Asset Management contributes to our SHE performance

Group AS&R is accountable for:

- Leadership in driving our vision to become “Mining leaders in plant & equipment life-cycle performance”
- Supporting sites to identify and implement integrated solutions that create, enhance and/or protect value.

The purpose of this role aims to support the Copper BU in the optimization of Asset Management Performance and initiatives across sites

**Main Tasks**:

- Support the Head of AS&R Copper to jointly with site stakeholders develop and maintain the Asset Management Life Cycle plans and ensure aligned technical plans
- Monitor and coordinate the implementation of initiatives and plans on site
- Support the BU in the external SHE audit and review process: ORA, second line of defense, ICTA, etc.
- Report progress and work with technical leads to develop appropriate mitigations when business risks are identified or arise
- Provide visible felt leadership in SHEQ and Anglo American values at every interaction possible
- Ensuring operations are clear on how the Asset Management supports achievement of overall plant & equipment KPIs and targets
- Support the site engineering / maintenance function to understand and utilize asset management guidelines and tools, as well as to build capability for issue identification and validation. Key focus on HME and light vehicles that are present in the BU operations.
- Support the site engineering function to translate the asset tactics into task lists to embed the continual improvements
- Facilitate the development of roles and responsibilities and appropriate training and competency assessment packages to ensure the improvements are sustainable
- For assigned sites be a valued interface between the AS&R Head Copper and site Engineering / maintenance function to:
1. Lead the implementation of AATS101 standards for light vehicles, providing guidance and clarification for a smart site solution. Raise any exemption to group Champion level that needs approval when a technical evaluation shows it is required.

2. Support the Copper ADAS lead to simplify and resolve technical issues associated with the system, devices or technology.

3. As AATS101 participate in incident or accident investigations when light or heavy vehicles are involved. Act as technical counterpart especially when legal implications are present.

4. Support and facilitate the identification or implementation of new technology to reduce GHE, waste and recycle of any material related to HME and light vehicles.

5. Participate as member of Carbon neutrality Copper committee, to define and support the BU Road Map implementation.
