We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our global team. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial, highly driven person with a well-rounded skill set to join the accounting team, whose responsibilities extend beyond those of traditional accounting. The ideal person for this role will need to not only have a strong grasp of accounting principles, but also be flexible and a strategic thinker able to take on a variety of tasks.
The Staff Accountant keeps continuous control of the company’s SII account and takes action when necessary; communicates with the accounting firm and directs them on filings and books; oversees and executes the billing process; receives, processes and pays vendor bills, keeping a structured filing system, and enters the documentation in the company’s ERP system.
**Responsibilities**:
- Utilizes knowledge of the fundamental doctrines, theories, principles, and terminology of accountancy, and often entails some understanding of such related fields as business law, statistics, and general management.
- Supports international locations including but not limited to the UK and Europe.
- Analyzes the effects of transactions upon account relationships.
- Evaluates alternative means of treating transactions.
- Plans the way account structures should be developed or modified.
- Ensures the adequacy of the accounting system as the basis for reporting to management. Considers the need for new or changed controls.
- Projects accounting data to show the effects of proposed plans on capital investments, income, cash position, and overall financial condition.
- Interprets the meaning of accounting records, reports, and statements.
- Advises operating officials on accounting matters.
- Excludes paraprofessional accountants.
- Assists with office administration as needed.
**Attributes & Background**:
- Advanced proficiency with the English language (including verbal, written, and listening skills).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
- 2-5 years of relevant accounting experience. International experience a plus
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with strong emphasis on Excel.
- ERP/proprietary software experience is essential.
- Superior attention to detail with demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing numerous deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information.
