**Position Summary**

Bechtel is seeking a Project Manager Marine Works for the Mining & Metals team, based in Chile. The position will be responsible for supervising operations within the all disciplines for the Port. Supervises the work of an EPC contractor and subcontractors and others, as assigned. Coordinates with Engineering and Procurement, and ensures assigned construction operations and contractors performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets. Provides support to the overall Desalination/Marine Works Area Manager as deputy.

**Responsibilities**

The Project Manager Marine Works is principally responsible for:

- Provide leadership for safety, accident and fire prevention on the project.
- Inspect site for unsafe conditions and practices and take appropriate corrective action to correct breaches.
- Verify that safety training and safe work practices are implemented at all times in conjunction with the Environmental Safety and Health Supervisor.
- Monitor that contractors perform all rigging as per plans and in a safe manner.
- Champion the cause of ZERO Accident Philosophy.
- Check that contractual and local/national safety codes, requirements and standards are being complied with within assigned area of responsibility.
- Responsible for managing contractor(s) in a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) manager capacity.
- Verify the most current design document are in use by the contractor and provided to subcontractor to complete work, and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
- Monitor the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules.
- Check the adherence to schedule and the optimization of craft labor and maintaining the four week look ahead schedule for labor and equipment.
- Interface with Labor/Industrial Relations for craft recruitment and training programs.
- Check subcontractor workforce requirements and review work accomplished by each craft.
- Review major contractor and subcontractor equipment mobilization and demobilization.
- Represent Owner’s interests in providing guidance to contractors in the execution within schedule, budget, and quality commitments
- Responsible for implementing corporate project policies, procedures and instructions within assigned operations.
- Coordinate with the Area Manager and Project Manager to assign competent staff to execute PMC work.
- Coordinate established area operational plans.
- Lead the preparation of the four week schedule and budget control with assistance from Project Controls.
- Review reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, craft personnel forecasts, material delivery forecasts, and completion forecasts.
- Plan the manpower and equipment required to execute the job.
- Perform employee reviews and identify training and development opportunities for subordinate personnel.
- Perform other duties as required by Bechtel management.

**Qualifications and Skills**

**Basic Qualifications**

The Project Manager Marine Works shall be knowledgeable and/or experienced in:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other relevant technical discipline from an accredited university as well as a minimum of nine years relevant work experience, or 15 years relevant experience in the absence of a degree.

**Additional Qualifications**
- Knowledge of PMC contract Management, and the Contractor(s) and their subcontractor’s (if applicable) responsibilities.
- Knowledge of onshore and offshore construction technologies.
- Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to field activities.
- Familiarity with current industry quality standards.
- Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H). Demonstrable commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
