Purpose
To represent the Company to the current and potential customers for the purpose of selling equipment and/or services while promoting the value provided by dealing with the Company. The ideal candidate will develop relationships with key accounts to maximize revenue and client retention. You act as a consultant by developing account strategies that provide the greatest opportunities to drive revenue.

Responsibilities

  1. Represents the company for the sale of machinery and/or services to customers in a defined sales area.
  2. Must keep current on product knowledge, features and benefits of all equipment potentially sellable by the company.
  3. Provide general sales support (needs analysis, data review, and product demonstrations).
  4. Keep aware of all manufacturers' sales incentive programs to promote increased sales.
  5. Keep aware of competitive activity and competitive products.
  6. Keep aware of trends in our customer's business that will affect the products and/or services these customers will buy today and into the future.
  7. Prepare periodic forecasts and progress updates toward sales goals.
  8. Maintain, as directed by the Sales Manager, current and complete information for all customers in the assigned territory.
  9. Conduct field demonstrations to promote increased sales.
  10. Maintain in good, usable and current condition (electronic and/or paper as directed) all manuals, price lists and other documents given the individual by the company. Accurately complete all documents related to sales transactions.
  11. Have a good knowledge of used equipment values and be able to evaluate properly for trading purposes.
  12. Work in conjunction with Sales Manager, responsible for follow-up and expediting of complete goods orders in which they have sold.
  13. Complete all paperwork associated with the sale of complete goods in a timely and efficient manner.
  14. Responsible for communicating effectively with the Service Department(s) on setup, delivery and repair of sold equipment.
  15. Provide customer follow-up after the sale and delivery of a purchase to ensure customer satisfaction and promote the relationship with the customer to achieve customer loyalty.
  16. Attend applicable sales meetings, training events, and seminars.
  17. Maintain company vehicle and other equipment (e.g. computer) as assigned.
  18. Any and all duties assigned by Management.

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge

  1. Basic knowledge of agriculture and agriculture equipment, experience in agriculture related field is a plus.
  2. Good understanding of local conditions with a knowledge of sales and resale values of particular machinery.
  3. Must be a self-starter and goal oriented.
  4. Good communication and inter-personal skills.
  5. Good computer skills.
  6. Ability to negotiate customer complaints to a satisfactory resolution.
  7. Ability to work with a team.
  8. Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups.
  9. Associate degree or equivalent in work experience.
