Sr. Risk Management Manager

Job Description Reporting to the Head of Risk for South Cone, this Senior Manager will oversee Strategic Risk Management, Ecosystem Risk (Fraud & Data Security) for Chile, and support the Regulatory and Risk Governance (RRG) team on supervisory and regulatory risk matters across the South Cone Region, Latin America and the Caribbean. The role requires collaboration with in‑market leadership, global functions—including Global Product & Solutions, Government Affairs, Client Services, and Merchant Solutions & Acquiring—and will involve implementing security priorities, protecting against fraud, managing credit settlement risk, and advising clients on risk mitigation. Key responsibilities include: Developing and executing a comprehensive risk plan aligned with local market priorities and global risk strategy. Serving as trusted advisor to the Country Manager on risk issues. Executing internal and external risk management programs. Leading client forums (security summits, Risk Executive Councils, working groups). Promoting client adoption of Visa risk products and solutions. Balancing authorization and fraud rates. Supporting regional supervision framework optimization. Managing relationships with issuers, acquirers, merchants, processors, service providers, and regulators. Identifying ecosystem improvement opportunities and advancing risk management practices. Developing constructive relationships with regulators. Resolving fraud and data breach events, providing stakeholder training. Leading responsible innovation initiatives with clients. Conducting risk assessments for new players and initiatives. Contributing to risk thought leadership and guiding clients through payment innovation complexities. Preparing reports and briefings for executive management. Synthesizing marketplace feedback and benchmarking performance. Communicating risk trends and developments to leadership. Supporting RRG on regulatory supervision matters related to VC Money Move and local payment clearinghouse requirements. Developing and implementing risk programs, preparing regulatory reports and presentations. Qualifications Exposure and Education: Global and deep knowledge of the payments industry; understanding of regulatory, market, competitive, technological trends and data breach threats. Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in tech products/solutions or a financial institution. Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, management information systems or related field. Risk Experience: Track record in identifying and mitigating enterprise and operational risk in a regulated, global environment. Experience protecting consumer and corporate data through compliance and rules management. Demonstrated contribution to brand and business growth via risk management. Strategic and Analytic Skills: Strategic and operational understanding of risks, ability to diagnose root causes, cost of remediation, and develop action plans. Extensive knowledge of risk management practices and Visa’s product ecosystem. Experience with AI and machine learning in product development, customer experience, and operational efficiency is highly desirable. Collaboration and Communication: Cross‑functional teamwork with technology and business units; effective communication with clients and external stakeholders (banks, processors, regulators, fintechs). Strong influencing, collaborating, and matrix‑environment work skills. Excellent listening, speaking, and public‑speaking abilities. Executing for Results: Curiosity, data‑driven insight extraction, and a proven track record of impacting business through data intelligence. Results‑oriented mindset aligned with business objectives. Additional Requirements: Spanish language proficiency (written and spoken) is required. Professional proficiency in English is essential.
