We are looking for a curious and self-motivated Java Backend Engineer to join our team at Nisum Latam and work with clients in the USA.

The ideal candidate will have flexibility to adjust the working hours to the schedule of a global team, be willing to eventually work on applications developed in Coldfusion and be a key player in the client representing Nisum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Design and implement microservices-based architectures for integration solutions.
  • Work with Kafka for event-driven messaging and real-time data streaming.
  • Utilize Swagger for API documentation and development.
  • Develop and execute unit and integration tests using JUnit and Cucumber.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration-related issues efficiently.
  • Ensure security, scalability, and performance of integration solutions.
  • Document integration processes and provide technical support for deployment and monitoring.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • You must reside in Latam
  • Advanced English skills
  • 4+ years of experience in software development and integration.
  • Strong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, and REST API development.
  • Experience with message queues and event-driven architecture (Kafka preferred).
  • Knowledge of Swagger for API documentation.
  • Experience with unit testing (JUnit) and behavior-driven testing (Cucumber).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions preferred).
  • Strong understanding of RESTful services and integration best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
Nice-to-Have
  • Experience with Spring Cloud for microservices orchestration.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, SAML).
  • Experience working in e-commerce or retail environments.
