Opportunity Checkr is seeking a seasoned Staff Software Engineer to become part of our Software Engineering Team. Role Focus This role involves integrating a recently acquired background‑check product into the Checkr ecosystem and developing it into a solid foundation for a comprehensive identity‑verification solution. Integrate newly acquired background‑check solutions into Checkr. Develop the system into a long‑term identity‑verification platform. Work on data vendor integrations one time and continuous improvements. What You’ll Do Own product development from ideation, design, implementation, to release. Collaborate with engineers and product managers to design and architect new systems. Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software. Manage individual project priorities, deadlines and deliverables. Deliver performant, reliable, scalable, and secure code. What You Bring 10+ years of industry experience as a software engineer, with significant experience in Python. Leadership skills and a passion for mentoring junior engineers. Experience running Scrum rituals (sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, sprint review and retrospective). Hands‑on experience with AWS. Strong understanding of microservice architecture and infrastructure, including familiarity with Kubernetes. Experience designing and implementing REST APIs. Experience with CI/CD pipelines. Experience working with data stores such as Postgres and MongoDB. Experience with Git, GitLab or GitHub and pull request / merge request review processes. Passion for optimizing services for scale and speed. Great desire to learn, collaborate, improve, and innovate. Pay Transparency Disclosure One of Checkr’s core values is transparency.
