Software Engineer – Front Line Manager Company: Equifax Location: Providencia, Santiago Metropolitan Region, Chile Seniority Level: Mid‑Senior Employment Type: Full‑time Job Function: Engineering and Information Technology Equifax is seeking an experienced software engineer to lead multiple development squads as a Front Line Manager. The role combines technical leadership, team management, and cross‑functional collaboration to deliver high‑quality, scalable software solutions in a regulated environment. Responsibilities Lead design and development of event‑driven and RESTful API architectures. Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineers and development teams to define and maintain SLA, SLO, and SLI metrics that meet EFX quality engineering standards. Work with architects, SRE leads, and product management to shape strategic technical direction, guidelines, and best practices. Drive technical documentation, including support guides, end‑user documentation, and runbooks. Lead sprint planning, sprint retrospectives, and other agile ceremonies. Manage multiple squads, handling all HR responsibilities such as hiring, interviewing, retention, training, and capacity planning. Make architecture decisions related to product features, stories, refactoring, end‑of‑life decisions, and continuous improvement while ensuring EHB guidelines. Create and deliver clear and concise technical presentations to internal and external stakeholders. Build and manage strong technical teams that deliver complex, scalable software solutions. Apply deep troubleshooting skills to lead and resolve production and customer issues under pressure. Possess strong full‑stack development experience with public cloud platforms such as GCP and AWS. Cloud certification is strongly preferred. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or 7–10 years of software engineering experience. Proficiency in Ruby and Golang. Experience with front‑end technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and React. Knowledge of backend technologies like microservices. Experience with source control systems such as SVN, Git, or GitHub. Familiarity with agile environments (Scrum, XP). Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL). Experience with Atlassian tooling (JIRA, Confluence, GitHub). Automation testing experience (JUnit, Selenium, LoadRunner, SoapUI). Strong communication, presentation, and leadership skills. Ability to solve conflicts and drive problem‑solving initiatives. Experience overseeing product or project budgets and annual planning. Capability to work in a highly regulated environment. What Could Set You Apart Hands‑on coding expertise while managing teams.
